Only "Real Data Users" can join their school team on the Green Allowance web site. However, if you're a Basic User, you can still build a school team by adding your individual scores together to create a school score.

Better still: reach out to your local utility with a letter writing, phone calling and email campaign to them requesting they partner with Green Allowance. Think of all the good it would do for the environment -- all thanks to you.

LEGAL/TERMS OF USE

The following rules govern the use by you of the Green Allowance. The rules set forth herein apply to all materials, online communications and other information that is or becomes available on the Green Allowance web site (collectively, "Information", and where the Green Allowance web site is heretofore referred to as the “Site”). BY SIGNING ON AND USING GREEN ALLOWANCE, YOU SPECIFICALLY AGREE TO ABIDE BY THESE RULES AND ANY MODIFICATIONS THERETO. If you do not agree, you have no right or license to access any part of the Site and you should not do so.

Green Allowance is a program that promotes conservation by its users and their families.

You shall not post, publish, transmit, reproduce, distribute or in any way use or exploit any Information for commercial purposes or otherwise use the Information in a manner that is inconsistent with these rules and regulations.

Use is at Visitor’s Risk
In connection with the use of Green Allowance, you shall abide by all applicable federal, state or local laws, including those pertaining to such areas as libel, slander, defamation, trade libel, product disparagement, harassment, invasion of privacy, tort, obscenity, indecency, and copyright or trademark infringement ("Applicable Law"). The Information available on Green Allowance may include intellectual property that is protected under the copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws of the United States and/or other countries ("Intellectual Property Laws"). Such Intellectual Property Laws generally prohibit the unauthorized reproduction, distribution or exhibition of all text, photographic and graphic (art and electronic) images, music, sound samplings and other protected materials. The violation of applicable Intellectual Property Laws may give rise to civil and/or criminal penalties.

Lawful Use:
You shall not post, transmit or make available in any way through Green Allowance any software or other materials which contain a computer virus, trojan horse, timebomb, worm or other rogue programming ("Rogue Programming"). Green Allowance has no obligation to detect the presence of any Rogue Programming. Any downloading of software or other materials or any other use of the Information on Green Allowance is at your risk, and you are advised to take adequate precautions to minimize any loss to your system caused by Rogue Programming, including use of anti-virus programs and proper backup of files.

Changes in Terms and Conditions:

Green Allowance has the right to change or discontinue any aspect or feature of the Site, including, but not limited to, content, hours of availability, and equipment needed for access or use, at any time. Green Allowance has the right to change or modify the terms and conditions applicable to Visitors’ use of the Site. Such changes, modifications, additions or deletions shall be effective immediately upon notice thereof, which may be given by means including, but not limited to, posting on the Site in “Terms of Use”. Any use of the Site by Visitor subsequent to such notice shall be deemed to constitute acceptance by Visitor of such changes, modifications or additions.

GREEN ALLOWANCE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF TITLE, NONINFRINGEMENT, OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. NEITHER GREEN ALLOWANCE NOR ITS AFFILIATES AND SPONSORS WARRANT THAT ANY INFORMATION IS COMPLETE OR ACCURATE, THAT GREEN ALLOWANCE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR FREE OR THAT ANY INFORMATION IS FREE OF ROGUE PROGRAMMING.

7. Limitation of Damage
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES, INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE, SHALL GREEN ALLOWANCE BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, PUNITIVE OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES THAT MAY RESULT FROM THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE GREEN ALLOWANCE, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION USE OF OR RELIANCE ON INFORMATION AVAILABLE ON GREEN ALLOWANCE, INTERRUPTIONS, ERRORS, DEFECTS, MISTAKES, OMISSIONS, DELETIONS OF FILES, DELAYS IN OPERATION OR TRANSMISSION, NONDELIVERY OF INFORMATION, DISCLOSURE OF COMMUNICATIONS, OR ANY OTHER FAILURE OF PERFORMANCE.

YOU HEREBY RELEASE AND WAIVE ANY AND ALL CLAIMS AND/OR LIABILITY AGAINST GREEN ALLOWANCE OR ITS SPONSORS IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF GREEN ALLOWANCE. YOU ALSO AGREE TO DEFEND, INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS, GREEN ALLOWANCE AND ITS SPONSORS FROM AND AGAINST, ANY AND ALL CLAIMS OR LIABILITY, INCLUDING COSTS AND ATTORNEYS FEES, ARISING FROM OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF GREEN ALLOWANCE OR FAILURE TO ABIDE BY APPLICABLE LAW.

Third parties supply certain content portions of the Site. Any opinions, advice, statements, services, offers, or other information or content expressed or made available by third parties, including information providers, are those of the respective author(s) or distributor(s) and not of Green Allowance. Entire Agreement:
This Agreement, and any operating rules for the Site established by Green Allowance, constitutes the entire agreement of the parties with respect to the subject matter hereof, and supersedes all previous written or oral agreements between the parties with respect to such subject matter.

Controlling Law:
This Agreement shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any cause of action of any nature arising out this Agreement shall be brought in the City and County of New York.

To be effective, the Notice must include the following:
